What You Need to Know About Bacarrat

Baccarat is the most popular game in casinos around the world, and it’s no wonder. It’s a simple game that requires minimal skill and offers big winning potential for players. In fact, casinos in Macau and Singapore make more money from baccarat than slot machines, and it’s an increasing popular choice among American casino-goers.

A standard baccarat game is played on a table with green felt covering the layout and numbered areas for bets. The croupier (dealer) deals cards from eight 52-card packs. Unlike the punto banco variant, in which a player’s moves are forced by the cards he or she is dealt, in baccarat chemin de fer and baccarat banque each player can choose his or her own strategy.

Generally, a hand that adds up to nine or more is the winner. If the total is six or less, a tie is awarded.

The game uses eight decks of cards, each of which is shuffled and dealt one at a time face down by the croupier. Aces count as one, face cards and 10’s count as zero, and the rest of the cards have their own value.

Betting Options:

A player can place a bet on the Banker’s hand or the Player’s hand. Those betting on the Banker’s hand pay even money with no commission, while those betting on the Player’s hand pay 8 to 1.

A player can also place an optional bet called a Super Six Bet. This bet wins if the Banker Hand scores 6 points or more. The payout for this bet is 12 times the bet amount. There’s also a Pair Bet, which pays if the first two cards are a pair.
