A volunteer Mentor spends two hours a week in a school with a matching student (Mentee) for an entire school year.

A Mentor is a role model who favors and enriches a young person training so that he will have one day a positive role in society.

The individual attention aimed by a Mentor to a Mentee offers new interests and learning opportunities. He helps him discovering his interests and makes him feel special and strong.

In this way families indirectly receive a valid contribution as well.

It is obvious that the process of matching mentors to mentees is not carried out by chance; it considers their motivations and – through experiential type of interventions – highlights their availability and awareness of the task to carry out; at the same time, the process of matching mentors to mentees takes places by considering their similarities, needs and common interests which are determining factors for a successful relationship

People selected to be mentors must attend a training course which will give them basic theoretical concepts and communication models efficient to better manage the interpersonal relationship (promotion of social skills, emotional intelligence, problem solving, storytelling). At the end of the Mentoring training course participants receive a certificate.

The work of the Mentor will be verified periodically by a school coordinator, named by the school principal and Mentoring experts who take care of training, program management and supervising.

The Mentor draws enrichment and gratification by seeing how his or her work gives a real improvement in the life of the young person.

Mentors can help new generations with encouragement and support who themselves received as children.
